Do you think that the biofuels made with food elements are the cause of oil price rise?

Or one of the causes? Or an influence at least?Do you think that the biofuels made with food elements are the cause of oil price rise?
Only as an excuse.

However, Brazil has been doing this for over 30 years and they're energy independent. I think we can do it too.

But I agree with the very 1st answer. It will drive food prices up the roof.Do you think that the biofuels made with food elements are the cause of oil price rise?
No--in fact the reason that gas is so much cheaper than Diesel fuel --by about 80 cents is because of the blending of ethanol with gasoline.

this ten percent mix has of ethanol took out a 2% mix of another chemical used to make gasoline more environmentally friendly--allowing a net gain of 8% more gasoline for the market without having to increase refinery production.

Diesel never had this other chemical--and you can't mix ethanol with it--so that is why the prices used to be more on par until a last year or so.

Now food prices are higher because of the combination of corn based ethanol and high oil prices.---but not the other way around.
depending on what kind of ethanol.

Brazil is mostly using ethanol from sugar cane. Sugar cane ethanol is a lot more effective (8 to 1) compared to corn ethanol and cheaper to produce.

US is supporting corn ethanol (mostly produced from Iowa and Illnois), provide heavy subsidy, and putting tariff on sugar cane import from Brazil. If you factor in the subsidy cost, corn ethanol is not cheap at all, even if you compare to the price of pure mix gasoline. Corn ethanol subsidy has been the biggest scam that has robbed taxpayers a lot of money, but pretty much go undetected (and continuously supported by one of the presidential candidate - Mr Obama).

So, in the US, if you grow corn for food - you get no subsidy from government and a lot less profit.

If you grow corn for ethanol - crazy profit + subsidy from government.

So if you are corporation or big farming company in Iowa or Illnois, why would you grow corn for food? Also, Japan starts evaluating biofuel using rice. This might be the end of humankind if that's the case as rice is even more staple food compared to corn (though corn is important as well )
I am playing very big on oil trading, from Morgan Stanly, Goldman %26amp; Sachs on the Wall Street .

I bought millions and millions of barrels of oil when they cost $60--$100 a barrel. I expect to make a kill when I sell. But right now it’s only $145 a barrel. So here is my difficulty:

I already requested my agents spin the media, like: “Oil future looks high, expecting to be in the range of $200 a barrel soon. ” But it does not work price up as fast as I expected.

I have also demanded my agent playing “China demand high” blaming game.

I am glad to see that Congress is ignoring 19 top trade group’s letter demanding an end to rampant oil speculationhttp://energy.senate.gov/public/index.cf…

Also I am happy to see that the Media did not report it as I desired.

But how do I corner the oil future price up very fast ? fast enough in time so not to get caught ?
NO, biofuel research is a response to rising oil prices. The use of corn to produce ethanol is a factor in rising food prices and other, more efficient methods are being looked into.

Alternative fuels are the best avenue to reducing the need for fossil fuels and reducing overall prices.
Biofuel came around because of rising fuel price. Not other way around, but it probably have something to do with rising food price/inflation. But lot of things are causing rise in food price like fuel price, rising demand....etc.
Yes
